JOB VACANCY
Amref Health Africa is the largest indigenous health development Non-governmental organization based in Africa. Working with and through African communities, health systems and governments, Amref health Africa aims at creating a lasting health change for Africa with headquarters in Kenya, Amref health Africa has programmes in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, South Africa and West Africa. Employing over 1000 staff and with an annual operating budget of approximately $89 million, Amref health Africa is a knowledge resource for donors and partners.

Amref Health Africa in Tanzania is largely supported by Multilateral, Corporate, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS!TB/Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Water and sanitation, Capacity Building, Laboratory strengthening and clinical outreach. Amref Health Africa in Tanzania has the following vacancy in Dar es Salaam.

HEAD OF PROGRAMS: BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM


REPORTS TO: THE COUNTRY DIRECTOR

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Postgraduate degree equivalent of Masters Degree or PhD in Public health, Social Sciences, Business management,
Health Economics or closely related field. A background with Degree of Medicine is an added advantage.
Business Development expertise encompassing skills in programme development and proposals writing
Experience in developing and maintaining community health development programmes
5 years in Business Development and Programme Management, 2years at a senior level
Extensive years of experience in successful proposal development for institutional and corporate donors, including pre-solicitation preparation
Substantive relevant experience in proposal development for other multilateral or bilateral donors

Strong team leader and player
Proposal writing skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Business management skills, or closely related field,
Exposure in fundraising and/or social enterprise is desirable
