Role overview
You will work collaboratively a Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) teacher within the electrical workshop and provide advice, coaching and where possible support other workshops in electrical related operations. He/she will provide inputs to VETA management and VSO on the best way to improve the workshop up to the standards desired/required by gas industry.



Skills, qualifications and experience required
Professional qualifications and experience: 

Essential 
 University degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in Electrification, plant maintenance and installation
 Have at least three years in maintenance department of a factory or an establishment such as a hospital, public utility company or office building.
 Have at least two years experience in the practical vocational training
 Experience in management information systems

Desirable: 
 Good organizational and interpersonal skills
 Experience of working in a developing country.
 Experience in working with poor communities and community institution

Preference is given to those applicants with background on vocational/ complex industry experience

Role overview
The ideal person for this position will conduct a nationwide context analysis on Reproductive, Maternal and Newborn Health (RMNH) care in Tanzania. The researcher will conduct a (quantitative and qualitative) desk research as well as consulting and conducting informative interviews with key stakeholders. This consultation will help draw learnings and good practices for future programming, supported by the identification of potential new partners. This analysis will help us to make the critical decisions as to where the most vulnerable are, their needs and therefore our choice for the geographical focus in our programming. The findings from this assessment will help inform VSO Tanzania country strategy on RMNH care and will reflect VSO’s people first strategy.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
Knowledge
Knowledge on healthcare and preferably RMNH is required as a core skill;
Know-how of participatory assessment / development approaches is required;
General software knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office), and knowledge of statistical packages such as Excel, SPSS or STATA.

Education
A recognized undergraduate or master degree or comparable qualification in area of (preferably RMNH) healthcare (master degree is preferable);


Experience
Several years of experience in conducting large survey / fieldwork (data collection, validation, entry and analysis), leading field staff teams implementing surveys in the field.
Proven experience and expertise on quantitative and qualitative methods.

Willingness to travel to field sites during the fieldwork phase.
Good interpersonal / human relations skills

Allowance and accommodation

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.

About Project 
Tanzania Local Enterprise Development Project (T-LED), support 1760 Small Medium Entrepreneurs (SME’s) through targeted tier 1 support to 160 growth oriented local SMEs to increase employment and incomes through the securing of contracts associated with foreign investments in the mining, gas and agricultural sectors and tier 2 support to 1600 local SMEs to access associate supply chains.

The 5-year T-LED Project aims to create 2,500 jobs by supporting small businesses to access new markets. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the project helps local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to overcome existing barriers. Training and coaching in business, marketing, and finance is offered to SMEs across the four target regions.

The project will be managed and implemented by Cuso International in partnership with VSO in Tanzania in four regions of Tanzania: Mtwara and Lindi in the South (gas sector), the Lake Victoria zone surrounding Mwanza in the North (mining sector) and Iringa in the center (agriculture).

Role overview
Ensure a results driven standardized Marketing Service Model is offered and maintained across all Regions. Conduct quarterly visits to each Region to understand and ensure that Tanzania Local Enterprise Development ( T-LED) Marketing Services are meeting Small Medium Entrepreneurs (SME) needs and growing their businesses.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
• Education requirements. 
– A bachelor degree in business, marketing or related subject.

• Essential Experience: 
– A minimum of 10 years Marketing Management in corporate Marketing.
– Experience in business planning and enterprise development.
– Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans.
– Analytical thinker with a proven ability to review outcomes and translate insights into actionable strategies and tactics that drive results within a tight timeframe.
– Managed and directed teams to develop innovative cost effective marketing approaches that drive results.
– Ability to drive results on a shoestring budget.
– Project management, facilitation and training skills.
