Pact Tanzania is a field office of “Pact’ an international non-governmental and non-profit making organization with its headquarters in Washington DC. Pact Tanzania exists to build local capacity to enable systematic solutions that allow those who are poor and marginalized to earn a dignified living, be healthy and enjoy the benefit nature provides. For efficient execution of its duties, Pact Tanzania is looking for enthusiastic, creative, energetic individuals to fill the following vacant positions:

Job Title: Finance Assistants (2 Positions)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reporting To: Finance Officer

Job Objective:
Perform functions to support Pat Tanzania in financial management in order to provide: accurate, current and complete disclosure of financial transactions; records that identify source and application of funds; effective control and accountability of funds, property and other assets; and comparison of expenditure versus budget amounts.
Job summary:
The Finance Assistant works with the Finance team to ensure that Pact’s financial policies and procedures and those of donors are adhered to all times and accurate financial records are maintained.



Qualifications :
• A Bachelor’s degree or Advance Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• NBAA Intermediate Stage Module D’or higher modules will be added advantage.
Experience:
•At least one (1) years’ experience working in the finance area, handling cash and making payments.
• Working experience in posting of financial data in an accounting software.
• Prior experience in working with donor funded organizations and managing a functional level in a busy environment.
Skills:
• Proficiency in standard office computer applications, particularly MS
Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
• Experience on electronic banking is an added advantage.

Job Title: Finance Officer ( 1 Position)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reporting To: Senior Finance Manager

Job Objective:
Perform functions to support Pact Tanzania’s financial management in order to provide: accurate, current and complete disclosure of financial transactions, records that identify source and application of funds, effective control and accountability of funds, property and other assets and comparison of expenditure versus budget amounts.

Job summary:
The Finance Officer works with the Finance team to ensure that Pact’s financial management, policies and procedures and those of donors are adhered to all times and accurate financial records are maintained.

Academic and/or Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• NBAA Intermediate Stage Module F, or higher modules will be added advantage.
Experience:
• At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in general accounting, including at least one (1) year working experience with non-profit organizations and/or international donor(s) in Tanzania
• Knowledge and familiarity with donors rules and regulations, especially USAID.
• Prior experience working with online banking.



Skills:
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks, ACCPAC, Serenic etc.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong training and capacity building skills
• Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and report presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
