The Rector of the College of Business Education invites applications from all students who have completed “A” level, “O” Level studies or Certificate and Diploma Courses from NACTE recognized Institutions to join the following programmes:
PART: I
Basic Technician Certificate in Industrial and Legal Metrology
Entry Requirements
NTA Level 3, which must be relevant to the programmes
OR
Form IV with at least four passes in English, Mathematics and or Physics, but excluding religious subjects
Basic Technician Certificate in Information and Communication Technology
Entry Requirements
NTA Level 3,
OR
Form IV with at least four passes with a minimum of “D” grade in Mathematics subject.
Entry Requirements for Other Basic Technician Certificate Programmes
Basic Technician Certificates in Marketing
Basic Technician Certificates in Accountancy
Basic Technician Certificates in Business Administration
Basic Technician Certificates in Procurement and Supplies Management
A Candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to all of the above Basic Technician Certificates Programmes if the Candidate has obtained:
National Technical Award (NTA) Level 3 (NVTA – VETA),
OR
Form IV with at least four passes excluding religious subjects or NABE II with at least three passes in relevant subjects but for Accountancy programme student must have at least ‘D’ pass in mathematics subject.
NB: All Programs are offered at Degree, Diploma and Certificate levels, in all Campuses except Mbeya Campus where the Programs are offered only at Diploma and Certificate Levels.
PART: II
Ordinary Diploma in Industrial and Legal Metrology:-
Entry Requirements
Form six with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes in science subjects including Physics or Mathematics. Form IV with four passes including Physics or Mathematics plus Basic Technician Certificate in Industrial and Legal Metrology OR Any Basic Technician Certificate with Physics as one of the major subjects.
Ordinary Diploma in Information and Communication Technology
Entry Requirements
Form six with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes including Mathematics subject.
OR
Form IV with four passes including Mathematics plus Basic Technician Certificate in Information and Communication Technology OR Any Basic Technician Certificate with Physics or Mathematics
Entry Requirements for Other Ordinary Diploma Programmes
Diploma in Marketing
Diploma in Accountancy
Diploma in Business Administration
Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management
A Candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to all the above Diploma Programs if the Candidate has obtained:
Form Six Examination Certificate with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes of the appropriate discipline but for Accountancy programme student must have at least a ‘D’ pass in Mathematics subject
NTA- Level 4 (Basic Technician Certificate) in the programme applied for
ATEC I (NBAA)
Foundation Stage I (PSPTB/NBMM)
PART: III
Bachelor Degree in Industrial and Legal Metrology
This course is only offered at College of Business Education (CBE) in Tanzania. Students pursuing this course have high chance of employment opportunities in the Government and scholarship priority from HESLB.
Entry Requirements
Any two Principal passes in science combination at “A” Level with Physics or Mathematics as one of the major subjects with a score of 4 points and above.
Full Technician Certificate (FTC) from a NACTE recognized Technical College.
Two year Diploma with second class and above from a NACTE recognized Institution specialized in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science and Laboratory Technology or Mining Engineering or any other related discipline with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
C. Bachelor Degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Entry Requirements
Any two Principal passes at “A” Level with Mathematics as one of the major subjects with a score of 4 points and above.
OR
Two principal or subsidiary passes in appropriate subjects in the (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent (For graduates of before 2013)
OR
Two passes of at least ‘D’ grade in either Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or Geography subjects in the (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent a total of 2.0 points (For graduates of 2014 onwards)
OR
Two year Diploma with a GPA of 3.0 and above from NACTE recognized Institution in Computer Science and Engineering, ICT, Computing and Information Technology, Computer Applications, Electronic and Telecommunications and Computer Engineering.
OR
Second class Teachers’ Diploma with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Geography
A. Bachelor in Business Studies with Education.
Entry Requirements
Admission to the programme will be open to all candidates who have successfully completed:
Any two Principal passes at “A” Level with a score of 4 points and above
Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 6) in Business Studies class or its equivalent with a GPA of 3.0 or above from NACTE recognized Institution.
Two principal or subsidiary passes in appropriate subjects in the (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent.(for those who completed A-Level in 2013 backwards)
For those who completed A-Level in 2014 onwards, must have two passes (ie. Two D’s) with a total of 2.0 points.
Any other Diploma of Mathematics or Science subjects, being Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering etc. as one of the major subjects. The candidates should have at least a GPA of 3.0 and above.
Full Technician Certificate (FTC) with ‘C’ AVERAGE
Entry Requirements for Other Bachelor Degree programs
Bachelor Degree in Marketing
Bachelor Degree in Accountancy
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration
Bachelor Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management
A Candidate shall be considered for admission to any Bachelor Degree Programs if the Candidate has obtained:
Any two Principal passes in “A” Level with a score of 4 points and above but for Accountancy Programme one should have at least a ‘D’ pass in Mathematics at ‘O’level
Two year Diploma with second class and above from a NACTE recognized Institution specialized with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
For Previous years graduates up to 2013:
Two principal or subsidiary passes in appropriate subjects in the (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent based on the following grade point conversion scale:
A=5; B+= 4; B= 3; C=2; D=1; S=0.5 and F=0 point
[The Principal level passes in religious subjects are not counted]
OR
Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 6) in Business Studies with a GPA of 3.0 and above.
For graduates of 2014 and above
Two passes of at least ‘D’ grade in appropriate subjects in the (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent total of 2.0 points based on the following grade point conversation scale.
A=5; B+=4; B=3; C=2; D=1; E= 0.5 and F=0 point
Part iv
MASTERS PROGRAMMES
The College of Business Education (CBE) is offering four (4) masters programmes: -
Masters for Information Technology in Project Management (IT-Project Management)
Master of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D)
Admission Requirements/Criteria for Master’s Degree in ICT Programmes
Bachelor degree in ICT and related disciplines
Any Bachelor degree with at least 30% ICT related courses
Post graduate diploma in ICT and related courses
Bachelor degree in Engineering
Bachelor degree in Project Management
Any Master’s degree with ICT courses
Masters of Supply Chain Management (MSCM)
Masters of International Business Management (MIBM)
Admission Requirements/Criteria for Master’s Degree in Business Programmes
At least a Second Class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning;
Pass class Bachelor Degree, Applicants with Pass Grade at Bachelor level shall be considered for admission if they possess one of the following: -
Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning. OR Professional qualifications from recognized professional Boards such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CSP

Commencement:
For Ordinary Diploma and Certificate levels, the courses will commence on September, 2017. Bachelor and Masters Degrees will be on October, 2017.
