A: ORDINARY DIPLOMA (NTAs 6) PROGRAMMES Programmes Offered
The Institute offers the following three years courses (NTA Level 4-6) leading to:

(ii) Ordinary Diploma in Computer Engineering
(iii) Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering
(iv) Ordinary Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering
(v) Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
(vi) Ordinary Diploma in Mining Engineering
(vii) Ordinary Diploma in Science & Laboratory Technology (Main Campus)
(viii) Ordinary Diploma in Science & Laboratory Technology (Mwanza Campus)
(ix) Ordinary Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering
(x) Ordinary Diploma in Information Technology
(xi) Ordinary Diploma in Multimedia and Film Technology
(xii) Ordinary Diploma in Communication Systems Technology
(xiii) Ordinary Diploma in Renewable Energy Technology
(xiv) Ordinary Diploma in Food Science and Technology
(xv) Ordinary Diploma in Biotechnology
NOTE: For Ordinary Diploma in Science & Laboratory Technology there is an option of pursuing this programme in either the DIT main Campus or Either DIT Mwanza Campus.
B: MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Holder of good Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum average of “C” grade (a Minimum of 9 total points) or (a minimum of 6 total points) based on the following conversion : A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4 (for applicants who completed Form IV before 2013 and from 2015 to date ) and A=5, B+=4, B=3 C=2, D=1 (for applicants who completed Form IV in 2013 and 2014); respectively in the following three subjects; Physics/Engineering Science, Mathematics and Chemistry or English, or must have a good General Certificate Course in Engineering (GCE).
Applicants of Science and Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Equipment Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Science and Technology must have a minimum pass of D in Chemistry and Biology in addition to the above requirements
C: MODE OF APPLICATION
C.1 All eligible applicants for Ordinary Diploma programmes are required to apply through DIT online link of http://admission.dit.ac.tz in which the information about the modality and procedures for application will be accessible.
C.2 All eligible applicants for Ordinary Diploma programmes studied at DIT applying for re-admission at different levels are required to collect application forms from the office of the Registrar
Note that: Applications letters through our mailbox or application materials mailed through e-mails will not be processed.
C.3 The Online Application for Ordinary Diploma will be processed only if the following scanned documents are attached:
(i) An original pay in slip of non-refundable application fee of Tsh 30,000/= for Tanzanian applicants or Tsh equivalent to USD30 for Non-Tanzanian applicant’s payable to the
Principal, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology through any branch of CRDB Bank, Account No 0150408417800
(ii) Original relevant certificates such as, A’ level certificate, O’level certificate or valid results slip for those completed in the year 2016, GCE, and birth certificate
(iii)A coloured passport size personal photograph taken within the last six months.
D: FEES

E: ACCOMODATION FACILITIES
Institute hostels accommodation for applicants under private sponsorship is subject to availability of space.
F: CLOSING DATE
The closing date for receiving the application is 20th August, 2017.
Closing date for applications should be observed. No consideration will be made for late applicants.
