Applications are invited from suitable qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions at the College of Business Education (CBE). College of Business Education was established by Act of Parliament, Act No. 31 of 1965. It is a Public Higher Learning Institution, which provides Teaching, Research and Consultancy Services in the fields of Accountancy, Procurement & Supplies, Marketing Management, Legal and Industrial Metrology, ICT, General Management and other business related disciplines.
1.0 POSITION: ASSISTANT LECTURERS – 8 Posts
QUALIFICATIONS
A holder of a Master’s Degree with a GPA of 4.0 or average of B+, and should have a minimum GPA of 3.8 at undergraduate level in the following fields:
Computer science/Computer engineering/Informatics or Information Technology — 3 Posts Applicants must demonstrate skills in programming.
Procurement and Supplies Management — 2 posts
Legal and Industrial Metrology – 1 post Applicants must have postgraduate training in industrial metrology, standardization or related fields, production engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
Education — 1 Post Applicants must have postgraduate training in curriculum or educational management.
Mathematics/ Statistics with strong background in ICT fields — 1 Post
b) DUTIES
i) Teaches up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree);
ii) Prepares teaching/learning material;
iii) Conducts research, seminars and case studies;
iv) Carries out consultancy and community services under supervision
v) Performs any other relevant duties as assigned by supervise

2.0 POSITION: TUTORIAL ASSISTANT ICT AN4110PN MATHEMATICS —1 post
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be holder of a Bachelor in any of the following: Mathematics and Statistics with ICT or Computer science/ Computer engineering/ Informatics with a minimum GPA of 3.8 and above. Applicants must demonstrate skills in programming.
DUTIES
Teaching up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma),
Assists in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students under close supervision;
iii)Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises
Assists in conducting research under Close supervision;
Carriers out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and
Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

3.0 POSITION: ACCOUNTANT GRADE II — 1 Post
QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of B. Com Degree, Bachelor in Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy.
DUTIES
Controls and prepares accounts up to Final Balance.
Files all accounting documents properly.
Ensures that all Invoices are properly recorded and filed after payments.
Follows-up outstanding payments.
Maintains employees’ ledger for staff advances, loans or imprests.
Maintains accurate registers for debtors.
Performs any other relevant duties as may be assigned by his Supervisor.

4.0 POSITION: PERSONAL SECRETARY II – (4 POSTS)
QUALIFICATIONS:-
Holder of Secondary School Certificate with a Secretarial Certificate from a recognized Secretarial College plus 100/120 w.p.m. Shorthand in English or Kiswahili and 50 w.p.m. typing, tabulation and Manuscript Stage III, Secretarial duties and Office Procedure Stage II.
DUTIES:
Receives and attends visitors.
Types both open and confidential documents and takes minutes.
Takes shorthand.
Attends telephone calls and takes messages.
Ensures availability of all necessary working facilities for proper job performance.
Takes proper care of all machines under his/her charge and ensures that they are used for official work.
Types Circulars, Certificates, Transcripts and Statements of Results.
Prints reports, letters etc.
Performs any other relevant duties assigned by supervisor.

5.0 POSITION: RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II – (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS:-
Holder of a Secondary School Certificate plus a Certificate in Records Management.
DUTIES
Opens new files and indexes cards.
Maintains an up-to-date register of Office files;
Files correspondences into the appropriate files and cross references;
Maintains up-to-date file index books;
Performs any other relevant duties which may be assigned by Supervisor.

AGE:

6.0 POSITION: TYPIST II – (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS:-
Holder of Secondary School Certificate, plus Stage II Secretarial Course ‘,Certificate or NABE from a recognized institution.
DUTIES
Types all general correspondences and non-confidential matters
Types letters, minutes, and notices
Files copies of typed letters in relevant files
Receives and directs visitors.
Attends telephone calls and takes messages.
Performs any other relevant duties assigned by Supervisor.

NB: GENERAL CONDITIONS
All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and must not above 45 years old.
Applicants must attach an up-to-date current Curriculum Vitae (CV) having reliable contact, postal address, e-mail and telephone numbers.

Professional certificates from respective boards
One recent passport size picture and birth certificate.
Form IV and form VI results slips are strictly not acceptable.
Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will attract legal actions.
Applicants currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
Applicants who have/were retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not apply.
Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by The National Examination Council of TatiZinia (NECTA)
Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) xiii. Applicants with special needs/case (disability) are encouraged to apply and are supposed to indicate in their application letter.
